INTERSTAR MORTAR PIGMENTS
Pigments are available which can be added to the mortar at the job site to perform Invisible Tuckpoinitng. Only synthetic mineral oxides, which are alkali-proof and sun-fast, should be used to prevent bleaching and fading.

You can essentially use any brand that is carried by a masonry supplies store.

We recommend Interstar pigments. The pigments are reliable, and the company, helpful. They provide, as a free service, a plastic case containing a sample of each of their colors, which can prove useful.

INTERSTAR pigments are made from synthetic inorganic iron oxides, blended to produce a range of colors. Their pigments are finely milled (95-99% minus 325 mesh) and blended under strict quality-control procedures to produce uniform color and a consistent product. Each color is inert, stable, temperature resistant, alkali resistant, water insoluble, and free of deleterious fillers. INTERSTAR pigments contain no soluble salts, which can cause efflorescence.

You can order them at a local masonry supplies store, or you can order them from this web site in a box of 12 packs. Each box can be just enough for one large residential project (unusual), or four to six smaller projects (more often the case). It depends on the size of the project AND on the mortar formula -- some formulas require several colors or a larger quantity of a particular color.

We only carry the eight colors that are required to carry out the Invisible Tuckpointing Method.

To order, please select 12 packs from any of the individual colors available. Some colors are priced differently than others. A Shipping & Handling charge will be added when you checkout.

First select each color you want from the drop-down menu, clicking on the "Buy Now" button below for each color selected; then, when you are actually checking out, select quantities which will amount to 12 packs. If more than one box is desired, select quantities which will amount to 24, 36 or 48 packs, and so forth.

Six of our eight available colors are shown to the right, starting from the top down in the order that follows: 1) Light Ocher; 2) Dark Ocher; 3) Peach; 4) Rose (pink); 5) Deep Cherry (red); 6) Dark Mahogany (brown). Coal Black and Ivory (white) are not shown.
